Was not impressed. What a difference between Potsdam and Malone stores. I will utilize the Malone store from now on.
Honestly was afraid to touch anything as the flu has been rampant through this area. Finding the store shelves, doors, and counters dirty didn't give a good sense of health safety.
Newly remodeled. Good selection. The guys stocking shelves were extremely helpful, since I couldn't find irens since the remodel. Some other employees could be friendlier.
The lady in computers could only point to where the ink cartridges were. She was too busy chewing gum to assist. Was also looking for a new tablet, but she never followed up to see if I found what I was looking for or needed any other assistance. I gave up.
There was no one to assist in housewares and I had to get help from another shopper in the Pet Department to lift bags of pet food into my carriage. I'm disabled and have a service dog. Kind of hard to miss being able to see me to offer assistance. Not one employee asked if they could be of service the entire time I was in the store (approximately 1.5hrs)
The only good note: Potsdam Walmart did open new cashier lines when there were more than 3 or 4 in a line. The cashier's were also the only employees to smile.
Potsdam was dirty and in disarray. The floors were sticky and filthy. No, it wasn't raining. Fingerprints and smear marks were all over the glass doors of the refrigerated and freezer goods. Many shelves we're in disarray and most sale items were unavailable in the grocery section (empty shelves).
I visited several departments and was disappointed in the lack of employee knowledge in their respective departments.
Good variety of everything but it takes forever to get cashed out at every store I've been to. A huge company that should be able to open MORE REGISTER'S!!!!!!
The two gentlemen in the guns and ammo (hunting department) never heard of my type of hunting rifle (common) and we're essentially clueless in regards to differences in types of ammo (or grain) for specific needs. Had to look it up on the internet on a personal smartphone. They didn't have what I needed. One employee had trouble using the computerized form to give a customer his hunting license renewal. A number of customers walked away when the employee had to finally get on the phone and ask for help.
Very friendly and helpful. Smiles, good attitude. Found just what I needed.
Great layout! The place is huge compared to the regular Wal-Mart I'm used to. The cashier wasn't talkative which I found odd. It wasn't overly crowded for Black Friday. The guy working for National Grid was a bit annoying.
